This week is Birthday Week for Clay. Sunday’s activities included a bowling party for him and his buddies. Totally great time was had. Lara made this killer birthday crown.
What a great weekend for the family FPA. Saturday, we went to the Afton apple orchard for our annual “apple-fest”. The hay ride, apple picking and corn-maze made for a busy and beautiful morning.
Sunday was cloudy and wet. But the family FPA came out to cheer the cross racers on. All wearing their team sweatshirts. After the race, it was dinner with JBT, Jon and Jane. JBT cooked, Jon played a little piano concert, while I did the dishes.
Everyone was involved with the fall lawn clean up projects. Plants re-located, gardens seeded over, foliage cut way back. Lots of help from my folks. Double extra help from Clay and Joanna.
Time for a little family vacation.. 6th year in a roll up at the Finn-n-Feather. Lots of good times. Here are pictures of us fishing, eating, attending the county fair and riding horses.
More pictures to come, cause its worth the effort for this blog.
Josh and family came up from Chicago. The cousins played together wonderfully and a good time was had by all. Parents had their 40th at Forepaughs.
Had to dress up, no biggie, except I no longer like to do that... had to wear more casual socks... good thing they're black.

The Best Bike Day Ever
I’ve had a ton of great days on a bike. I remember most of the very clearly; The day I learned to ride my first bike in Skokie, the Christmas I got my Rampar R-10, riding the PK Ripper, racing the Hutch at Itasca, racing Nate around Rockford, Bike trips up to Door County, The Aids Ride to Chicago, even recent activites like learning to ride hard with DA, Wah, Mikey P, Dyles and B2B… I’ve been blessed.
But NOTHING beats last night’s ride with Clay.
Clay just learned to ride his bike and we’ve been hitting the streets pretty hard. Actually, he prefers the alleys, so we’ve been hitting those harder.
Ain’t nothing better on a bike.
Check out him above; pulling his newest trick: no feet.
